The Need
Too many young women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy have no idea
what the church is about, or what the gospel of Christ offers. In fact, many women in this
situation would assume the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27) would stand only for their
condemnation. These women have never met the Son of Man who said, “Let any one of you
who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." This must change.

Grace Community's Response
Currently, we are considering two different organizations to work with. One is called
Birthright of Loudoun County and the other is Mosaic Virginia. Both seek to befriend and
advise the women who are struggling through an unplanned pregnancy. Clearly, we would
lovingly discourage the legal option of abortion. However, we will not discontinue our
friendship with anyone who has decided to pursue abortion as a means to terminating her
pregnancy. Rather, we will continuously pursue a relationship with her just as Christ
continuously pursued us. In the aftermath of abortion, the Evil One will pursue that woman’s
soul. Through desensitizing her to the reality of her decision, or convincing her she is the most
vile of all creation and unworthy of salvation, satan will not quit until he has completely
ruined her. Even if she does not pursue abortion, she may struggle in the aftermath of giving her
child up for adoption, or in keeping the child as her own, need a significant amount of help
learning how to be a mother- and quite possibly, a single mother. If the church does not confront
this reality, who will? Furthermore, can the church maintain her integrity in clinging to the
mantra of “pro-life” while never bothering to love the souls of the women who are scared,
confused, and on the verge of making a dangerous decision; all of which is experienced without
her knowing the steadfast love of our Lord? Is God calling you to care for women such as these
by showing them, and telling them, about the God’s unfailing love as they walk through this
difficult time?
