The church in Thessalonica was a miracle. Paul planted it in about three weeks, and it became the healthiest church in the New Testament. On the other hand, Paul spent 1.5-2 years with the Corinthians, and they were still a mess.

Nevertheless, the Thessalonian believers had lost hope because of bad doctrine.

When scripture informs our hearts, we will experience a narrower wavelength of emotional highs and lows.

Revelation was written to encourage believers, rather than to cause them/us to fear.

When the uncertainty about the future gives us anxiety, we need the comfort that only the gospel can give.

1. False information distorts reality, v.1-3, 5
2. We should not be surprise by evil, v.3-4, 6-10
3. God control our destiny, v.8b, 10b-12
